    Go into your media library and add content to the Title, Description, etc. to the image. Should do it. HTH

    I did some more looking and it looks like the WP function that any custom background image uses does not have parameters that can be applied, like the alt tag. In general, images set as background do not have alt tags--so I don't know that this is something you can change, unfortunately.
