Help making the lightest theme possible

Hi,

I made a child theme for Genesis to use on my blog - https://andreichira.com/

You can download it for free from Github - https://github.com/fasterwp/chira

What I'm interested in is if it's possible to make it even lighter.

The page size is 70K, and from that, just the JS is 50K.
I don't know Javascript, so my question is, do I really need all that JS?
Is it possible to do some functionalities with CSS? Like, skip-links, responsive-menu, hoverintent, superfish, etc.

To reduce the JS library filesize, you have to modify the JS library file by removing unnecessary code sections.
And obviously host and refer from your own hosted space/server.

@katiller lightweight means better loading speed and scalability (your site can handle more traffic even on cheap shared hosting).
