    Just updated a site to WP 3.6 and Genesis 2.0 and the header image disappeared! Anyone else have this issue yet and know the quick fix?

    Theme: Outreach

    Site: http://bgolaw.pro/

    Section of code:

    .header-image #title-area {
    background: url(images/header-blue.png) no-repeat;
    display: block;
    float: left;
    height: 201px;
    overflow: hidden;
    padding: 0;
    text-indent: -9999px;
    width: 350px;
    }

    After updated my site to Genesis 2.0, the width of the header image became shorter. Before that was full width!
    Please help!

    The #header class selector is now .site-header if you have added HTML 5 support to your child theme and updated to Genesis 2.0.

    It appears related to the coding at

    genesis > lib > structure > header.php

    around lines 769-792.

    If you view your homepage html source code for http://www.tanchyegeokacupuncturist.com/, you'll see that Genesis 2 is actually inserting a css code for the header that overrides your child theme's css for the header.

    On line 44: </script><style type="text/css">#header { background: url(http://www.tanchyegeokacupuncturist.com/wp-content/themes/outreach/images/header.png) no-repeat !important; }</style>

    The no-repeat !important overrides your regular css for the Outreach child theme. I'm not sure the proper route to deal with this, but I just edited the above mentioned header.php file within the Genesis framework on line 783 and removed <!--no-repeat !important;--> which is a temporary fix (until Genesis is updated again).

    Ironically, if StudioPress updated http://demo.studiopress.com/outreach/ to Genesis 2.0, that demo site would experience the same thing which http://www.tanchyegeokacupuncturist.com/ is experiencing.

    Hi!
    My header did the same thing except it is now flush left instead of centered. I would rather it be centered like before like the demo theme on studio press Outreach theme.

    Thanks.

    Please Studiopress, we need a response from you. What immediate action are you going to take to resolve this issue ASAP? You can't have an update to Genesis 2.0 and, with that, created compatibility issues with your child themes you sold to your customers. That can't be right.

    We need a response from Studiopress!

    Hey folks, Susan is right, if you need an official response please submit a support ticket. This is very easy. Log into my.studiopress.com then click the "Get Help" link on the right most menu. For an issue like this select the "technical" option from the drop down.

    To save us both time, please make sure you include the URL to your site in the provided field.

    You should receive a confirmation email if the ticket was correctly submitted. If you didn't receive the confirmation email, please make sure that you have @copyblogger.com whitelisted with your email service and the email client didn't spam our email. Also, please watch for any error messages when submitting your ticket and double check that your email address was entered correctly.

    If you have submitted a ticket but have not heard back from us in 24 hours (we usually reply much faster than that) submit a second ticket.

    I think that about covers it all.

    As a general fix for this issue. Find #header { } in your style.css file. It might occur more than once and there will be some rules inside the { }. Make that #wrap #header { } (again, there will be rules inside the { } but since this is general I can't provide with the exact rules for all sites)

    That will fix most of the header issues. For specific help, contact us. This is a support issue and we will help.
