    I am using the Magazine Pro child theme and I am trying to change the header from black to white. I have tried changing it here:

    /* Primary Navigation
    --------------------------------------------- */

    .nav-primary {
    background-color: #FFF;
    position: fixed;
    width: 100%;
    z-index: 999;
    }

    .nav-primary a {
    color: #222;
    }

    and I've trying adding this code

    .nav-primary {
    background-color: white;
    }

    but it remains black. I am making the changes in Magazine Pro Theme: Stylesheet (style.css). Am I editing the wrong file?

    Thanks.

    Marie~

    Try changing the background color in the section below excerpted from your css.

    .nav-primary {
    background-color: #222;
    left: 0;
    position: fixed;
    top: 0;
    width: 100%;
    z-index: 999;
    }

    ps - I am not sure I can accurately point you to a line number possibly because of active cache and or accelerator.

    Thanks, Marc. That's the section I already tried editing. I changed it back to the default after no changes took hold, so I didn't have a page full of tweaks.

    If you look now, I have it set at the code below, which I believe should be a white background with black text, but once again nothing has changed. Are my colors wrong?

    /* Primary Navigation
    --------------------------------------------- */

    .nav-primary {
    background-color: #fff;
    left: 0;
    position: fixed;
    top: 0;
    width: 100%;
    z-index: 999;
    }

    .admin-bar .nav-primary {
    top: 32px;
    }

    .nav-primary a {
    color: #222;

    Thanks, Marie~

    Do you have any page accelerators or cache plugins active? If so you might turn them off and clear.

    You are correct. The section of your style.css that needs the change begins about line 1258.

    Unfortunately there is another css (pagespeed) that is replacing it.

    Turn off any cache and or page accelerators, Dreamhost sometimes has these on almost by default.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! I would never have thought of that and I've been pounding my head all afternoon.

    Really appreciate the help, Marc.

    Best,

    Marie~
