    Hello

I've added the Google analytics code to Genesis > Theme Settings > Header Scripts and traffic is being tracked accordingly.

I'm trying to set up a goal whereby a thank you page is being tracked for subscribers to my newsletter but so far google has not tracked any subscriptions despite new subscribers signing up and google is unable to verify the goal.

You can always use the Google Analytics by Yoast plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/). It works quite well.

If you wish to manually check the code, install the Google Tag Assistant Chrome Add-On/Extension and load your site. Make sure you are not logged in to the site. Hover over the Google Tag Assistant and check the status of the Google Analytics tag.
