    Hi I am trying to get an image to show up when I post a link to my blog on facebook - If I have a picture in the post it doesn't even get picked up.  Anyone know what I need to do?

    So I post a link to a page on mywordpress site on Facebook and usually an image will show up but nothing does even when I put an image in the post.

    Go to that post in the admin section> At the top of the page and click on "Screen Options" > Check the "Featured Image Box"> Now scroll down the the right sidebar and click "Set Featured Image" .  Next just upload the photo you want to show up> click the "Update Box".

    I just found that feature but it doesn't help that.  I also just noticed that when I put a link to a post on my FB fan page, it just says the metatags from the main site and not the page - I have seo pack installed,  that's probably another question.

    Check your personal page and see if it shows. Sometimes Facebook pages are finicky about url's.

    Nope doesn't show on personal page and the box for featured image was already checked and I put an image in there and it doesn't work.

    Using a featured image and Jetpacks sharedaddy will work.

    You can install a plugin which displays a default featured image if one is not set. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-featured-images/
