    Anyone know if I can plunk the Genesis slider at the top of the Metric Theme homepage with little to no modification? Is that area of the Metric Theme widgetized similar to, say, the News theme?

    Yes, it;s the home top widget area, so swap in whatever widget you like. 🙂
