Hi..I'm relatively new to Genesis but not to web developing and am having a problem setting up a Genesis slider.

I tried using Genesis slider plugin with a free child theme (Latitude) and did not find it easy to setup. I was hoping I could just upload an image/s and add these somewhere to the slider html.
Instead I find options in slider settings for posts/pages that are quite confusing for me and haven't allowed me to quickly do what I wanted eg add images to the slider on the site homepage. I haven't found the StudioPress slider instructions very helpful unfortunately and I've searched for help on the web but I cannot find easy simple instructions on how to set up the Genesis slider! To the contrary, I am a little dismayed at the seemingly complicated instructions I have found to set up Genesis child themes!

I bought the Backcountry theme so I could try a paid theme and am struggling setting up the slider let alone customise the rest of the site which I still have to do!

Also I have seen there is a Genesis Responsive Slider plugin which I have also installed and now I have 2 Genesis slider plugins installed!

I'd be most grateful if anyone could simply explain how to set a slider up in Genesis to display images on the homepage (not to be associated with posts). Is this possible? I recall seeing an internet post about this but I could be dreaming as I cannot find it! Also I'd appreciate any support to say running a Genesis child theme is not as difficult as wrangling a bunch of snakes in a barrel! (Just had to get that frustration off my chest..I hope in time to learn to use Genesis easily and quickly...).

I look forward to any helpful replies, many thanks and best wishes

Well, further to my first post, I have my first featured image on the slider on the homepage. I now need to create more pages with more featured images to make it into a proper slider.

As an aside I also imported the backcountry demo site XML to act as a guide. Anyway I am making progress setting up this Genesis theme even if it is taking longer than anticipated and been trickier than anticipated. Best wishes
