Tagged: Genesis Simple Sidebars, sidebar blocks
I have a genesis website (MAI theme) which over the years has accumulated 800+ pages of content, and I have created about 50 unique sidebars using Genesis simple sidebars plugin. Once the sidebars are created, and I place the appropriate widgets in each sidebar, I am able to assign the appropriate sidebar on a page by page basis within the WP page editing screen (using the simple sidebars plugin)
This is a big project to convert the website to use gutenberg blocks in sidebars rather than use widget areas, but I want to start planning that conversion since this is the direction gutenberg is taking to eliminate widget areas in sidebars.
Any recommendations for a lightweight solid reliable plugin to accomplish this? Since it has to be done for 800+ pages, I need a solid and lightweight solution. ...or, better yet, are there any plans for genesis to create a plugin that allows this functionality using conditional blocks in sidebars, with ability to create as many sidebars as I need?
Any insight is really appreciated.
