Just wanted to ask how designers/developers deal with building a website using a base StudioPress child theme for a client.

I understand that clients should purchase their own Genesis Framework, but are we allowed to install a child theme for 'free' if we have the Pro Plus Package?

I also understand the GPL licence, but prefer to do things ethically.

You can install Genesis and child themes on any sites you want. The purpose of purchasing a license is to get official support from Studio Press if you choose not to support your clients, that's all. It's strictly a financial exchange. Genesis does not have to be licensed to run or receive updates.

That's a great explanation, thanks Victor.

Most theme developers allow you to install their themes on multiple sites/client sites without buying additional licences.

As I will be providing support/fixes I guess this is allowed under the current genesis licence.
