My client has a site that has previously used OptimizePress2 and there has been a child theme that is built on Genesis Framework. Now that OptimizePress3 has been released the site was changed to use OP3 instead of OP2 and all of a sudden the comments disappeared from the frontend (they are still in the admin panel so they are just not visually shown).

After a thorough investigation, it looks like Genesis Framework and OP3 don't play together. Comments work perfectly with a different theme (Twenty Twenty Two for example), but not with the child theme or with Genesis Framework alone. The comment section header and comment form are shown, but not the actual comments that are left on the page.

Has anyone else had similar problems? Any workarounds or ideas?

OP2 is not compatible with PHP8 so that's why my client's site needs to migrate to using OP3. And if the commenting issue does not resolve itself we have to change the theme.
OptimizePress has been consulted already and they can't help as it seems to be a theme issue.

OP is a premium product which makes it hard to work out a solution that works with Genesis. I'm sure there is a why to get it working however that may take some time to troubleshoot.

    Take a look in genesis > lib > structure > comments.php
