I am using the 3rd party theme Foodie, which recommends using Genesis Featured Widget Amplified.
This widget cannot be worked with under WIDGETS as it will either 1) not show any of my widget boxes or 2) will show my widget boxes and then I am not able to work with the widget. If I can open it I will be able to see all the options, then my screen will "jump" and the widget will look like this: http://frugalferret.com/wp-content/uploads/wonky-widget.png
If I deactivate the plugin I have no issues working under the WIDGETS tab. If I deactivate all my plugins and only run the Amplified Widget plugin, this issue is still there.
I have also tried using the 2014 theme and the same issue occurs.

If GFWA is misbehaving, please try the branched "Genesis Sandbox Featured Content Widget" by Travis Smith (new version of GFWA)

April 20, 2014 at 12:30 pm #101491SummerMemberHey Tom, thanks for the tip... how long has that plugin been around? I'd asked something similar months back after getting tired of playing "options tag" with the GFWA settings 🙂
Also, the repository listing says the new one is only verified up to WP 3.6.1... will it still work as expected with 3.7 thru 3.9?

I believe it is OK with 3.8+, just from playing with it some. One review (*the* one review so far) indicates it's OK with 3.8.1. Looks like Travis Smith first pushed this about 5 months ago and is keeping it current. Nice to have yet another alternative.

April 22, 2014 at 10:19 am #101882SummerMemberTo be honest, I've never seen such a call for help, and would have easily volunteered to help test anything out if I had. And no, I'm not a reader of his blog or website, if that's the only place he posted that request.
There's no sticky message about it in the WP.org support forums for the plugin, and I've never seen anything of the sort posted here, else I would have asked what other help he was looking for.
Also, consider this yet one more suggestion that maybe there should be an additional forum here for just the Genesis plugins, where folks can chatter about the Studio Press ones and the independently created ones, too. I'd venture that having a sticky message in the WP.org fourms and here for Nick's call for help would have gotten in front of a lot more eyeballs, and maybe a lot more responses.

Slice of SciFi | Writers, After DarkApril 22, 2014 at 10:26 am #101885Andrea RennickMemberThat's what the tags are for. 🙂
Also - Nick does not monitor this forum. I just happened to catch this while cleaning out spam.
THe plugins are hosted at WordPress.org and this have a support forums attached for each, as required by WordPress.org. (not a fan of that bit, but there you are.. I'd rather support them all in one place.)

April 22, 2014 at 2:56 pm #101937SummerMemberTag searching these forums can be so hit or miss, it's almost like actual work 🙂
And yeah, I'd rather see support for the official Genesis plugins over here as well.
Hopefully Nick traipses across this thread, and decides to put that sticky message "call for contributors" over on the WP.org support forums... I do think he'd find the help he'd asked for that way.

Slice of SciFi | Writers, After DarkApril 24, 2014 at 8:33 am #102155essaysnarkParticipant+1 to all Summer's suggestions (sticky in the plugin's WP forum, dedicated forum here). Have seen many many requests for help on this plugin here on the forums and always end up shrugging with nothing to offer; it's got many known issues and seemed to have been abandoned by the developer. This is an issue since the StudioPress setup instructions for many themes recommend using this plugin.
April 24, 2014 at 2:52 pm #102221TomParticipant@essaysnark I think I've demo-prepped every one of the StudioPress themes at least once, but don't recall ever seeing a requirement for Genesis Featured Widget Amplified. Genesis Featured Pages and Genesis Featured Posts, yes, of course. But GFWA?
