    Hi,
    I would like to use a widget that shows featured posts based on a tag selection. What do you advise?

    The default Genesis Featured articles only makes a selection based on category.

    What I need is something that shows it based on tags and also excludes previous shown posts.

    So I looked at:

    1. Nelio: not the needed functionality out of the box.
    2. Genesis Featured Widget Amplified: not updated in years tough there is something on github
    3. Extended Featured Widget: is recently updated but doesn't has the exlude previous posts functionality.
    4. Genesis Sandbox Featured Content Widget: has the functionality but not updated for a while. Also a more recent github version.

    I incline to use Genesis Sandbox Featured Content Widget but I'm a bit concerned about the support on this plugin. What are your thoughts on this? Or do you have any other suggestions of plugins I could use?

    Genesis Sandbox Featured Content Widget plugin. Try it, should work fine.

    It works fine. I'm just afraid it will break and that it will not be fixed.
