    I'm struggling with a problem with experts. Below explains the issue.

    I'm using Enterprise Pro and the front page uses six instances of the Genesis Featured Page widget. The Genesis Featured Widget has a option to display a set amount of characters in the excerpt. I have it set to 100 on all widgets but when viewed on the front page, the read more buttons are at different heights because some of the excerpts use four vs three lines.

    My solution was to use custom excerpt text for each post. BUT.... The excerpt field was missing. I used the following code and placed it into Functions.php to turn it on which I executed successfully. Below is that code.

    add_action( 'init', 'my_add_excerpts_to_pages' );
    function my_add_excerpts_to_pages() {
         add_post_type_support( 'page', 'excerpt' );
    }

    When content is added to the new excerpt field in the post the excerpt does not appear on the front page. How do I get the widget to use the content added in the excerpt field?

    Thanks for any insight on this.
