Tagged: CookieYes, genesis, Google Consent Mode
Good afternoon.
To continue presenting Google Ads on my website, I must configure the CookieYes Plugin for Google Consent mode.
The advice from CookieYes Support is to copy the following scripts before wp_head within the Genesis Header.php ...
<script>
window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || [];
function gtag() {
dataLayer.push(arguments);
}
gtag("consent", "default", {
ad_storage: "denied",
ad_user_data: "denied",
ad_personalization: "denied",
analytics_storage: "denied",
functionality_storage: "denied",
personalization_storage: "denied",
security_storage: "granted",
wait_for_update: 2000,
});
gtag("set", "ads_data_redaction", true);
gtag("set", "url_passthrough", true);
</script>
There is a very clear warning message not to amend the Genesis Header.php code.
So my question is, does anybody within the Community have experience of enabling Consent Mode with Genesis? Is the above OK to do, or can it be implemented via another (safer) method? For information, I have Magazine Pro as the Child Theme.
Best regards
Paul
