    I'm trying to learn more about WordPress developing and working with Genesis. Unfortunately I know little about either.

    My question is about Post Thumbnails, specifically, cropping them. I'm trying to create some image galleries using Media Library Assistant and cropping the thumbnails with Post Thumbnail Editor. The result is thumbnails are all over the place. Some are cropped right, some are the whole image many are different sizes ... just no consistency. I'm trying to get a 160X160 thumbnail but really, if I could just get them all the same I'd be happy.
    What would be the best way to get the thumbnails uniform? Does Genesis use a 160X160 thumbnail? All I can find is a 300px length setting.

    Hi,

    there are a few sizes that WordPress will create and depending on the child theme you use, additional thumbnail sizes are defined.

    Those thumbnail sizes are created automatically when you upload a picture to the media library.
    Be aware that WordPress will only create thumbnails if the image dimensions are larger than the thumbnail.
    (e.g. it won't create a 640x480 thumbnail of a 320x240 image)

    The first code snippet here shows the code for adding additional thumbnail sizes:

    You can use plugins like Regenerate Thumbnails to automate the creation / re-creation of thumbnail sizes after you add / change thumbnail sizes or change your WordPress theme.

    If you want to manually crop images, I´d do that on your computer and upload the edited images. It´s still a lot faster.

    Ok, I added the code provided. Made a new image size of 160x160, named it my-thumbnail.
    Made no difference.
    I downloaded Regenerate Thumbnails, regenerated a couple of thumbnails, all it did was create images of certain width but varying heights.
    How can I set it to where the output of thumbnails will be 160X160?
    I'm not having a problem with featured images. It's the output of a gallery and the featured images of archive pages.
