I am using elle theme. My images were resizing fine. Then I decided to try and "optimize" my site. I used the plugin "WP Smush.it" ... I did not like the way it resized my images. They did not resize to fit the theme specs.
SO...
I deactivated it and deleted the plug in.
Now...
My images do not resize right still and I cannot get them to look right anymore. They are off. Not by a lot. But it looks dumb and is frustrating. I just want my site to work the way it did before... Am I missing something? Help Please?

If you look at the "Wife Challenge Image" and the "Give all your worries" image, they are not set right. The other images were from posts that came BEFORE the plug in came into play, so they look right.
PLEASE help... 🙁

December 2, 2013 at 12:02 pm #76626SummerMemberIf Regenerate Thumbnails caused all your images to "not fit", then you don't have your thumbnails defined correctly for the sizes you want on the website. Regenerate Thumbnails (and Smush. It) calculate what image sizes to create based on what image dimensions are defined by your theme.
Did you change something in your theme, or were you uploading feature images that weren't exactly the size that's defined but fit in that space anyway?

Slice of SciFi | Writers, After DarkDecember 2, 2013 at 12:25 pm #76632Green-ChickMemberI load the image in the size I am supposed to based on the theme. I have done nothing different. The problem started AFTER I go the plug in and never fixed once I removed it. I have done nothing else different from what I have been doing since I started the site. 🙁
December 2, 2013 at 5:55 pm #76704SummerMemberDid you disable all the images? I don't see any article or feature images on there now.
Look in the functions.php in your theme folder, and see what sizes are defined, then also look at your Settings > Media to see what sizes are defined there.
What size image were you using and which one did you pick to be your displayed featured image size?
It's possible that Elle was defining one size and the site was configured to use one slightly different sized. I ran into that once... I set things to use a 300x180 featured image, but a couple of contributors kept uploading 300x150 images, and since they were smaller that what was being used, they weren't being "resized" to fit.
