I just installed the Genesis theme and the Lifestyle Pro child theme. In Theme preview, the formatting is correct, with a teal blue header bar at the top, and content below. When I activate the theme, the formatting is totally wrong. The entire page is teal blue, and the sidebar widget material takes up the page, with no posts or content.

This is a working site, and I can't leave the poorly formatted page up so you can see it. I did take screenshots.

I uploaded genesis through the upload function on WordPress, then uploaded the Lifestyle theme and activated it, getting the formatting shown in the second link above. I deactivated all my plugins, just in case that might be causing the problem, but it didn't help. Can anyone suggest what I did wrong?

    Thanks,
    Jonni

When you activate a Genesis theme, most (if not all) of the widgets in your sidebar will get shoved into the Header Right widget area. After activation, you just need to go to Appearance > Widgets and move those widgets back into the Primary Sidebar area instead.

Thanks - that explains it. Now I just have to figure out how to get the colors right, get the images showing, etc. Sigh.
