I know, I know…it’a a bit overdue but the reality is that I spent so much time, more than I ever imagined about a year-n-a-half ago to get my site up-n-runnin’. I have an appfinite theme sitting on Genesis and I have done a lot of CSS adjusting to get the site I now have. I wasn’t at all code-literate when I began, I’m better now but not a champ. Took about 6-7 weeks initially and then I’ve been tweaking for the past 18+ months or so. So that’s the history, now

Yesterday another upgrade appears in my email. Great. I get about 40-60 hits per day of people/robots trying to sign-in with ‘admin’ which has been gone from the beginning. Anyway, it’s time to upgrade. I have never altered Genesis. I did put 2 pieces of php code into my site as directed by the site designer and it worked. Other than that it’s all CSS. So after this short(?) intro,

What can I expect to happen? Will I lose any pages or information? How about appearance? I know some of the widgets are gone. Although I have many videos on my site, I don’t need to deal with html5 yet. So if anybody has gotten this far into my mini-essay…any advice, suggestions…tech, non-personal would be appreciated. Thanx.

    heres the site:

    Hi Tom,

If you kept all your edits to the child theme, Legacy, you'll be fine. Legacy runs on top of Genesis.

As always back up your site first, you should be doing this anyway. Also it's best security practice never to use the admin username.

    Hi lisaleague,

Thanx for your comments. I do backup my site in 2 ways although I’ve never had to use either so who knows if they are adequate. I use Time Machine exporting to an xternal drive and I pull a Backup from my Host about once a month. What do you think…seem adequate? And actually I changed out the “admin” as soon as I set up the site. But while I have you here, I remember reading somewhere that some of the plugins for the ver 1.9.2 were not in the 2.0 version. Know anything about that?

Thanx for your support. It’s a gloomy day in Tokyo… gloomy and I haven’t hit “update” yet. ahhh, the adventure of it all.
