I'm working on updating my WordPress Genesis site and would love feedback on how to make it more visually pleasing and marketable. I'd love to know what you think of the font, background color and any suggestions you may have for widgets and plugins that would make the site more engaging.
Note: There are currently a few issues such as a broken Twitter feed that I am aware of and am trying to learn how to fix.

Your site looks quite plan which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Perhaps you can explore one of the newer genesis responsive child themes and use that as a basis for a design you like.Your colors are fine, I think better use of quality images would enhance visual impact. Also consider using a serif font in heading and content to match the serif font used in your logo.
But most importantly above design, you need more content on your site. An expensive awesome design isn't going to hide the fact that the blog has only been updated with 3 posts in 3 years.
