Use the Genesis Favicon Uploader plugin. You can set where you want it to appear, or use different ones for public side and dashboard side.

When I checked this out I got this message: !This plugin hasn't been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

Have you used the plugin recently? Do you know if it still works well?

    Thanks,
    Susan

I usually upload the Favicon to my theme's image file, but for someone who would rather use a plugin, I like the All in One Favicon plugin.
