I feel like this is the dumbest question, but my homepage isn't actually a page, so that's why I'm getting confused! Anyone know where on the backend I can change the photo that shows when posting http://www.starsandscars.com on Facebook/social media? I feel like I've scoured everywhere in the WordPress dashboard and code! I have the News Pro template. Many thanks!

That's a great question. I'd like to know the answer to that as well.

Worth mentioning also that it's currently pulling an old banner image. I updated the banner weeks ago, and that hasn't cycled through if by chance it's defaulting to grabbing that image.

    Hi Starsa10,

If you don't mind making your homepage an actual page, follow these instructions:

From your Admin dash, go to Settings > Reading, then for Front Page Displays select A Static Page. Make sure you have a blank page called Home and one called Blog created so you can set the home and blog page. Afterward, your homepage will actually be a page, and you can set a new featured image for it just like you would a post.

Let me know if this helps!

    Hi Erika,

I'm not sure that's exactly what I want to do, nor how I would actually do it. My site functions as a blog currently. I wouldn't know how to code a new, blank "Home" page to function and look exactly as it does now if that makes sense.

You won't have to code it. Just create a page like normal and call one Home and another Blog.

For anyone else with this question, the Studio Press support team sent me an answer -

To have the featured image show when sharing your homepage link on social media, you can use Yoast SEO.

There’s a setting for the homepage image in the social tab: http://d.pr/i/1biA7

You will want to make sure that the original image is large enough for FB, and I suggest using the FB debugger tool to force it to fetch the new image:
