MemberHi all,
http://mallorcaoplevelser.dk
Hope you are enjoying the summer!
I am using the Outreach Pro, simply because of the responsive menus, and the location of the secondary navigation. But I would really like to have a magazine-like front page, as I am running a travel blog.
Is there a way of getting the front page from one of my other themes, or customize the front page of Outreach Pro to look different?
Thank you.

ParticipantYou could use the Magazine Pro themes front page on Outreach however it wouldn't fit in very well without significant modification. Might be better to customize the front page of Outreach Pro. Exactly what do you want to add/modify?

MemberHi Brad,
Thank you for getting back here 🙂
Basically, I I want to use the same type of layout as the Magazine Pro, however, I would like the featured posts slider (widget area) to be full width.

ParticipantAdd the Magazine Pro themes front-page.php file to your child themes folder.
And add the code from functions.php for the widgets to your child themes functions file.
Then you can find the classes and CSS in the style sheet which will need modifying.
You'll also need to take out the call to the home top widget from the genesis_loop function and hook the widget after the header.

MemberVery nice of you, really appreciate it!
But I better find someone who can perform this task for me, I've had many issues with my site so far 🙂

ParticipantNot hard. You could setup a test installation and give it a try. If you get stuck, report back here.

ParticipantIf you only want to add the slider, you can very easily hook it in after the header

MemberEverything is easy, when you know exactly what to do 😀
I was thinking about using the rev slider for this. I wonder why Studiopress refuse to renew themselves just a bit, keeping up with modern design trends, such as wide layouts and custom templates. I love my genesis framework, and I love this forum, but I sometimes catch myself in browsing Themeforest for projects, simply because all Genesis child themes are build more or less the same way. The only thing that differs in them, is the static front pages.
Sorry for the tears, hope they didn't come out of your screen making your keyboard wet ^^
