I have a modified version of Eleven 40 which includes a static home page. All customization was made using the custom files in the Eleven 40 theme.

Does anyone know if it is safe to upgrade both Genesis and the Eleven 40 Theme? I'm assuming it is but want to check about possible impact to the site.

    Thanks.

I just tried upgrading my Eleven 40 theme to the new Pro edition, but reverted back after seeing the customizations do not stay with the theme. Support told me, via a ticket, that Pro is an all new theme and child themes do not usually get updates. I updated to Genesis 2.0 and all was well (no problems!) but I'm likely going to stay with the original Eleven 40 seeing as I'd have to redo all customizations on the new version and I have no real reason to.

I recommend you do the same. The new design update is nice, but I don't use the default header style or anything that got updated, so it's not of much of use for me.

@Geoffrey is correct. You will need to re-work your edits in the Eleven40 PRO as it's being marketed. You can upgrade to 2.0, but using Eleven40 PRO is like using a totally different theme.

Thanks for the help. I'll go ahead with the Genesis upgrade but leave Eleven40 as it is.
