    Hello,

Are you able to select the layout of the current page within the editor in the back end? I am only asking, because I am not familiar with this theme and not sure if that options exists.

it looks like I can change the layout through genesis theme settings, but when I make it to one sidebar, it removes the secondary sidebar (the blue one) which I need.

Would there be another area in the dashboard to check?

    thank you!

Ah, and there is not a layout for this. Someone else was asking for this earlier too.

    Hmmmmm.

I want to do this too. The irony for the education theme is the alt. sidebar is the preferred sidebar (in my mind). Using a tip from this post I went at the problem using CSS and a display: none; logic. Problem is when you hide the main sidebar, the alt sidebar disappears as well.

This perhaps is either my failure to do the proper css selector or perhaps it's hard coded that the alt sidebar builds on the presence of the main sidebar (finds the right margin of the main sidebar and positions relative to it????).

My desire is to either switch the two or to simply make the main sidebar widget area to go away but keep the alternate sidebar.

    Any ideas?

I would LOVE to know the answer to this question too. Any help would be great. I have to know if/how this can be done this week so I can start on the client site!

Education Theme: I also need to remove the primary sidebar from a few (but not all) pages, but there doesn't seem to be an answer here. Perhaps a copyblogger can help?

@mpeik - if I'm reading you correctly, you want to remove the primary sidebar, but keep the secondary sidebar?

Carrie Dils wrote a tutorial about that last year. I haven't tested it with Genesis 2.0, but it should probably point you in the right direction.

    Tutorial is here: Carrie Dils
