In the theme demo there is a blue social media bar at the top with an oval search. I cannot seem to find the place to add that in the widget section, etc. or mention of it in the instructions. Maybe I missed it somewhere? Any help would be appreciated.

The site is in maintenance mode as we don't want it showing for clients while it's in progress. Is the blue bar with social and search supposed to be showing by default? I didn't see anything in the theme instructions about it.

Hi, I have the same question. I really like the social links and search field above the header in the Education Pro demo. Is this a native feature of the theme, or custom code.

    Ted,

Here is what I got back from Support. I haven't had a chance to try it yet:

The blue bar at the top of our demo was created using the primary navigation. To create something similar, follow these steps:

    (1) Create a menu in Appearance > Menus with your preferred links and check the box to use it as primary navigation.

    (2) To add the search bar, add this to functions.php: https://gist.github.com/nutsandbolts/3f09933d5c8010317973

That should give you the blue bar like our demo.

Not sure why this is not part of the theme when installed, but at the very least probably needs to be added to the Education Pro setup documentation.
