I am on the Edit Category dialogue page.
I have the options to pick a layout and a sidebar (I have genesis simple sidebar plugin installed).

I am selecting a new layout and sidebar.

I would image this means anytime I create a post in that category It should have my new layout choice and sidebar, but alas, it does not.

I am using lifestyle pro, but I've had this same behavior with another theme.

I'm I expecting the wrong things from these settings or am I forgetting an extra step? I know I can select both these settings individually on each post BUT I would like to create the default behavior as the blog already had 100 post.

Thanks for any light that can be shed on this problem.

Choose the default layout in the Genesis Settings.

Use the plugin settings for areas you wish to show differently.

    Hey Andrea,

there is nothing in the Plug-in that sets the sidebar or the layout for a certain page or post.

When i'm in the POST area - and define my Category - I can choose a sidebar and layout settings over the default. I have done that but i'm still getting the default on the post pages.
