Hi. I have a standard simple menu set up that works great on desktop, and previews correctly when in "Customize". I'm using a custom child theme. But, the dropdown does not show up on my iPhone. I didn't customize any CSS or anything. I simply added the nested menu items to a top level menu item that otherwise works fine on desktop. Where do I start trying to fix this?

Then hover over "books" on desktop to see what it should be showing, which is a link to two book titles.

Looks like your theme was developed from an older version of the sample because your menu is not mobile responsive. But on my Android I click Books and the drop down appears.

Don't have an android, but in Developer Tools, the mobile version shows right too.

What is the best place to start? Somehow upgrade Genesis? But would that break my child theme and then I'd have to see what broke? The child theme is just CSS, and then some custom shortcodes in the php file. I didn't modify any core HTML or anything.

Well, you wouldn't be updating Genesis. You'd be updating your child theme which looks to be based off the old Sample theme. You could copy/paste all of your custom shortcodes into a Gist on Github. Then make the switch to another theme, then add your shortcodes back to the new theme.

Oh wow, I don't want to lose my theme and have to start over with a new design! Is that what you are saying is necessary in order to get an up to date responsive site? What would your recommendation be?

    Thanks!

If the menu is your only concern, you could have someone customize your theme to make your current mobile menu responsive.
