Greetings - I did not find this specific question in forum search, so perhaps the solution should be obvious.

I am using the child theme, daily dish pro 1.0.1 and just did another backup in preparation. Am I understanding editing and customizing correctly: that the change I made previously to the functions file in the regular (child) theme functions editor was made to the child theme, and is therefore 'safe' and will remain unchanged after genesis upgrades?

In the theme editor, it does have this language at the top of the right sidebar with the very small number of editable file choices below: Templates - This child theme inherits templates from a parent theme, Genesis.

    Thank you!

    Hi Catherine,

yes, if you made all your changes in your child theme (e.g. while "Select theme to edit:" was set to Daily Dish Pro (which is the default setting)), updating Genesis will not change any of your modifications.

I´m glad you created a backup before updating. That´s very smart. 🙂

Hi Christoph - Thank you for the confirmation and peace of mind. One thing is for sure, the forum is always reminding folks to backup before changes, so that's an easy one.

I went ahead and upgraded after reading your reply and did a quick double-take because afterward the dash said 'You're now running Genesis 2.1.' I guess it just does not read the 3rd character in the versions.

    Much appreciated!

    Hi Catherine,

I´m glad it worked well. 🙂
Now you are in practice when Genesis 2.2 comes out in the very near future.

Could you please mark this topic as resolved, so it can be closed?

Sure thing, done and done. I had it marked resolved with my previous submitted comment, but I guess you have to do them separately or the updated status won't 'take'.

    Have a great day!
