I am using a plugin called "star rating". It gives users the ability to leave a comment with a star rating and shows pictures of stars with "5 based on 1 reviews". I have pasted the short code in the top of the post [stars_rating_avg] in hoping that this would display the stars etc in the excerpt of the category page but it doesn't. Does anyone know if there is a way to achieve this?

Here is the category page and the post I refer to is the second from the top:
    https://blacktiegroup.com.au/brisbane-soloists/

Here is the post where you'll see the star rating at the top that I also want to display in the excerpt:

    Soloist / Duo / Band 246

Any help on the code and where to place it would be greatly appreciated if this is possible 🙂

It would be helpful if you could list the link to the plugin so we could see how it works.

I see the star rating above the comment area. So what's not working for you?

The plugin says to use the shortcode on "individual" pages or posts. I don't know if you can set that globally.

I'm wanting it to display in the excerpt in the category page also:

Categories do not have excerpts. There a description box but shortcodes typically will not work in there. The categories are part of WordPress so if you want that to work, ask them on the plugin support page.

Sorry, perhaps I need to explain it better. On the category / archives page (where the excerpt from the post displays), I was hoping that the "stars and 5 based on 1 reviews" would also display from the actual post, but it doesn't seem to want to display that info.
I hope this makes more sense 🙂

@paul first, don't click the links that you may see from another poster. It was spam that came in overnight. Right, if it's for rating comments, then I guess it wouldn't. But that would be a question for the plugin developer how to implement that on archive pages as that's a WordPress function. It's not specific to Genesis. Reach out to them on their support for that assistance.
