    I'm a designer, not a coder. I have managed to customize Genesis themes with CSS over the years and learned a lot in the process. But I am stumped with this one.

    I wanted to display the date before the post title in the Recent Posts widget and found the following solution using CSS Flex.

    .widget_recent_entries li {
    display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap-reverse;
    }

    It seemed to work as intended until my post title was so short that the date was able to fit on the same line. You can see this by comparing the 2nd post in the homepage sidebar widget. In English, I added "Regular" to Council Meetings to make the title longer and push the date back to the previous line. I left it alone in the French side of the site.

    I'm sure there's a fix, but with my limited knowlege of Flex, I can't figure it out. Can anyone help? Alternatively, if not with Flex CSS, is there another way to do it in the child theme's function?

    Give this a try -

    .widget_recent_entries li {
        display: flex;
        flex-flow: column-reverse;
    }

    Seems to work ok with shorter titles , give it a whirl
