Setting under Readings:
Your homepage displays: Your Latest Posts.
I want to display a product slider of a certain category (using WooCommerce) on the home page above the list of posts.
The widget with the theme (Magazine Pro by StudioPress on Genesis Framework) does not support this space where I intend to place the slider.
Seeking relevant way to accomplish the objective.

You can use some plugin to implement this functionality using short-codes generated by them. Try using this plugin here https://wordpress.org/plugins/product-slider-for-woocommerce-lite/

Installed the Product Slider For WooCommerce Lite plugin.
Template Include code: <?php echo do_shortcode("[psfw slug='5173']"); ?>
I tried to paste the above code under Header/Footer Scripts but did not display any slider.
There is also a text code, but where should I paste? Under Settings, I could not locate any option (running latest post option on the home page).
Shortcodes go into Custom HTML widgets or other custom code not the Header/Scripts box.
Since you are not using the widgets, you can simply use Genesis Simple Hooks for this. Use the "genesis_before_content" area and check the box " Execute Shortcodes on this hook?". If you need the slider to show up on different pages/posts - you will need to follow the instructions provided here on the plugin to use a conditional statement - https://wordpress.org/support/topic/visibility-help/?replies=5#post-7515814.
