Adwords has been a nightmare. I've gone back and forth with Google for hours regarding an ad disapproval over the last 2 weeks today. I kept being told I was getting 404 errors but had not found any when click on all pages. After finding zero 404's, I was then told my robots.txt file is likely preventing the adbots from crawling the site and installed a plugin to modify the robots.txt file but the representative didn't know how I needed to modify and the article regarding the topic only had instructions on how to prevent adbots. finally, today, a representative gave me the following tool which identifies jquery and css as well as other reasons for rendering a below acceptable load time for getting ads approved:

when looking at all the jquery and css alone i'm feeling rather intimidated making the suggested css edits and removal of jquery.

can anyone offer any recommendations on how to get ads approved with adwords without redesigning the entire site to a plain html page?

is this reason why it's a practice to use a landing page template?

The images on your home page are HUGE. Compress those.

Ignore half the jquery recommendations, as they are also pointing to core WordPress files that can never be moved.

These are just guidelines, not hard and fast rules. Most of what needs to be fixed on your site is not theme or platform specific. Just work on a faster load time. You might need better caching or a better host.

Also, it is very very rare to get 100 on these scores. There might even be other reasons Adwords is not approving the site, but they are jumping on this one instead.

It sounds like the techs you were dealing with were grasping at straws.
