When you are on the Page, go up to Screen Options and click it. See if the Discussion and Comments have been checked off.

January 18, 2014 at 7:58 pm #85814danakayParticipantThere is no check by those terms - that's the first thing I tried. If it helps, the URL is http://writerseditorsnetwork.com/ - and that's one of the pages I'm trying to get Comments off of - Am I seeing something other than a Comments form (I'm new to Genesis and Prose)?
January 18, 2014 at 9:13 pm #85831danakayParticipantIf I remove the Comments from all the pages (leaving it only on posts), is there any plugin for placing a comments form on specific pages? That might be a workaround, since I cannot seem to get rid of the Comments individually as they now appear.
January 18, 2014 at 10:31 pm #85843danakayParticipantI've turned the comments off the pages totally - will worry about getting them onyo a page when I reach the point where I need Comments, I guess. Probably find the solution when I'm searching for something else 🙂
January 20, 2014 at 6:33 am #86075AnitaCKeymasterTypically you use the settings under Genesis > Theme Settings to set the Global features for the comments - turn them on or off of pages and posts. If you turn them off, you still have the ability to turn them on. So you said in the Discussion and Comment section of Screen Options there "was not" a check in the box. You did not state whether you put a check mark in them. Did you? This will make the boxes show up on the pages and posts so you can do them individually.

January 20, 2014 at 9:45 am #86102danakayParticipantWhen I set it up initially, I checked for Comments to appear on posts and pages globally, which I had read needed to be done in order for them to be turned off on individual pages. And they did appear everywhere. Problem is, I could then NOT turn them off on individual pages. So for now, I have them turned off globally for pages because not having them is better than having them show up on totally irrelevant pages. I'm not sure what is wrong - or how to start over from scratch and how to do it correctly if I do.
January 20, 2014 at 9:47 am #86103AnitaCKeymasterSo then let me go back to my other question - "When you are on the Page, go up to Screen Options and click it. See if the Discussion and Comments have been checked off." Check this area on a Page, not a Post. Can you open a page in edit mode, click Screen Options and give me a screenshot of what that looks like?

uh-oh - how do I include a screen shot in here?
January 20, 2014 at 10:09 am #86105AnitaCKeymasterCan you just post a link? Maybe upload to Dropbox or use Media in your dashboard? You can delete it after I see it.

http://danakcassell.com/Testing/testing.htmlJanuary 20, 2014 at 10:38 am #86114AnitaCKeymasterThat's the problem - you need to check the box for discussion and comments to show up on the Pages - check those boxes.

January 20, 2014 at 10:49 am #86118danakayParticipantNot working - see new screen shot
http://danakcassell.com/Testing/testing.htmlit's on this page
(and yes, I did update the page and refresh my browser)
Note: Pages is not checked globally - because when I do that, the Comments show up on every page and I cannot undo the Comments on individual pages - which brings us back to my original problem
January 20, 2014 at 10:58 am #86120AnitaCKeymasterGo to my website and send me a note. I'll give you instructions what to do so I can see your screen from here.
