    Link to my site: http://wp-hbay.capiratech.com

Not every single time, but a majority of the time, the nav bar background color ---- or the background color behind the homepage slider --- loads very slowly. Almost at 5 second delay .... any idea why? Or how I can prevent?

    Hi,
You do have a somewhat hefty image at the top, the soft-focus picture of the library. Since it is very soft-focus, I would think you could compress it quite a bit with your image editing software and the quality would still suffice. Same deal with the slider images, maybe they could be compressed a tad.

There are several other images being used, such as for the menu, and a slice behind the slider, but they're not big. So really, I don't see any strong offenders, and I'm a bit surprised that Amazon is a bit pokey.

You could also try a cache plugin, that might help some.

You're welcome. 🙂 I have recently begun using Fast Cache, which is pretty easy to set up and is fast.

Super Cache and Total Cache are excellent and have zillions of adherents, but they are much fancier, and can be quite geeky to set up.
