Hi
It would be great if you could provide tutorials on expanding/modifying the Genesis Theme Settings.
I am thinking that placing certain code into the Theme Settings would provide an alternative to some of the snippets.
For instance:
- Adding favicon and logo
- Hiding title from single pages
- Adding social media links.
- 404 custom error page. (Which I found on github has been created a plugin for).
and more.....not sure what more is right now.

Not everybody wants to do all of those things on their site and if you add them to Theme Settings, all of a sudden the themes become bloated and over featured like some poorer quality themes on the popular theme marketplaces.
In my opinion, Genesis is smooth & sleek and needs to stay that way to remain the industry leader.
For favicons, you can replace the existing Genesis favicon via ftp or c-panel, or if you don't feel comfortable doing that, there are plugins available.
The logo can already be added via the WordPress dashboard customizer or under Appearance/Header.
Bill Erickson has a great plugin called Title Toggle which allows you to choose on a page by page basis to remove the header.
Social media links can be added with the Simple Social Icons plugin by Nathan Rice or social sharing icons either from Brian Gardner (Genesis Simple Share Plugin - get it directly from his site) or Jetpack sharing buttons.
404 custom error pages - again, plugins available for this too (I think some themes might have settings for configuring this - can't remember).Cheers

See it as learning how to screw up the theme settings, create bloat, and learn what not to do.
That was step 1. Then learn how to add or adjust a few simple things in the theme settings. That was step 2.Bottom line is just learning how to adjust the theme settings a few steps further then what is generally available today.
Thanks for the reply!
