    Hello-

I am using the Metro theme, and I have added a custom post type and and custom post category to my site, however I cannot get the Genesis Featured Posts Widget to show me the custom post category in the drop down to allow me to display the custom featured posts on the home page.

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to make custom post types usable with the Genesis widgets?

    Thanks!

You might have resolved this by now, but I thought I'd mention the Genesis Featured Widget Amplified plugin as a way to display custom post types. Hope that helps!

Hey Andrea, I have seen you mention that plugin before. I see it's only compatible up to 3,3.2 and was last updated over a year ago. Is that an issue with 3.7,1?

Sorry for disrupting your thread, but can anyone tell me what's the use of custom post types, and how exactly will this plugin help with them?

I am looking to modify my homepage too, and I think that this plugin somehow helps me achieve what I think; though not sure what it is about.

@Mealtog - I haven't had any issues using it. I seem to recall a forum thread somewhere about an issue that needs to be addressed with HTML5 themes but I haven't had any trouble myself.

Thanks for your reply Andrea. I am wondering the same thing, not only is it meant for an older version of WP, the last release date seems to point to compatibility with Gen 1 so NOT HTML 5 themes.
