    Hello,

I'm using the Foodie Pro theme. I'm trying to create a different look for different sections of the site depending on the type of content.

For example, a "Videos" category would require it to look a bit less minimalistic looking and have more media images of related videos and thumbnails of other posts.

What would be the best way to do this with Genesis and the Foodie Pro theme?

A few options that come to mind are:

    1) some kind of custom post template that is only applied to certain categories. Is this possible?

    2) I can see Genesis Blocks and Custom Blocks plugins could do something like this saving them as Reusable group blocks of some sort. My own concern with this is the extra unnecessary assets Genesis Blocks plugin loads on every page, rather than just the pages using the blocks. I had to remove it in the past to keep up with the Core Vitals performance speed update and all the extra js/css files being loaded by the plugin everywhere.

What would be the best approach for this job in your opinion?

    Thank you!

    Matt

Thank you Brad, that looks really helpful. I can't see that Foodie pro uses any category templates as they have some 'modern category' setup: https://feastdesignco.com/modern-categories/ but I'll see if I can work around that somehow.

Interesting, must be a newer version of Foodie Pro which isn't included in the Pro Plus package as i searched for the function and couldn't find it in 4.2.0
