Hi, I would like to credit an author properly with an author box without having to set up a new WordPress profile/login each time.

It pulls their photo from gravatar - which many aren't on.

On my website, I have a generic profile and then mention the author name in the article or have myself as the author then reference the contributor - neither is ideal.

    Example Here

For contributing authors, I'd like to add a name, bio, upload optional photo, and links/social.

Are there any suggestions on how to do this? Ideally with code (if someone could talk me through it) or a recommended plugin.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

You could use the default profile for each author. That is the easiest way.

Otherwise a plugin like co authors plus https://wordpress.org/plugins/co-authors-plus/

Thanks - I guess I've steered clear of individual WordPress profiles as most of my contributors are one-off writers. I'll take a closer look at Co Authors plugin though.
