MemberI am using the Whitespace Pro theme at http://www.the21stcenturywriter.com.
Settings > Allow people to comment is CHECKED.
Settings > Comment author must fill out name/email is CHECKED.
Screen Options > Comment is CHECKED.
Genesis > Theme Settings > Enable Comments on Posts CHECKED.No comment box is showing up on individual posts. I can manually add a comment via the Dashboard and the comment shows up.
Any ideas of what I should look for or try?
Thanks.

MemberJust wondering...just a guess...if you're looking at one of your posts in edit mode, if you scroll way down below the window where you enter your text, might there be any kind of setting there that might control whether or not comments are allowed?

MemberThe only thing I see on edit-post mode is a section for Comments and the only content is an Add Comment button. If I use this button, I can add a comment to the post.

MemberHere's what I can tell you:
I just installed WhitespacePro on one of my test sites, and made sure my settings were the same as what you described above, and I see comment boxes on all three posts on my test site...just as would be expected.
Have you looked at your plugins, and tried turning off some of those to see if they're causing the problem?
I'll leave the WhiteSpacePro theme on my test site for awhile so you can see it with the comments if you're interested..if that might help:

MemberThanks for setting that up -- I'd love to have that!
I have turned off all plugins and the comment area still doesn't show up.

MemberI'm not much for the technical stuff, so I can't suggest anything else, but I'm sure someone will come along and figure it out.
Meanwhile, I like your site...it looks interesting. I'm a writer and an editor, so I'm going to check out some of your stuff when I get some time.

MemberGreat! Thank you. I also discovered I could turn on Comments via Quick Edit (though how to do it via editing an individual post was escaping me).

ModeratorTo turn it on/off on an individual post, first go to the top of the screen in the individual post (under "screen options") and make sure that you have the comments box checked.
Then, you can scroll down to the bottom of the individual post, and see where to enable/disable comments on an individual post.
