Here is my post, if you click on a category at the bottom it brings up a white page. I am using the old basic child theme. If I change the theme to Twenty Twelve the category option works and brings up the category.
I am not sure what is going on but I am wondering if someone can help here because it is obvious I am missing something.
Thanks

That's very hard to say from the outside. The first place I would look would be any plugin that affects permalinks.Twenty Twelve works - that's a wildcard. I doubt this is it, but maybe your Genesis child theme has an errant category related template.
Hope that helps a bit.

I deactivated all plugins and it still came up as a white screen. How would I figure out if there is an errant category template? I really do not have the time to redesign my site right now.
Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, that's really odd.Again, not being hands-on, I'm extremely handicapped in this type of case - I can't give a cure, only ideas. Probably geek required.
To check for a template, go to Appearance.... Editor, and look in the right column, and you may see a Category template over there. If so, the code could be checked. I still doubt this is the problem, though.
Good luck, Dave

Thanks for checking.
