Changing Font in Genesis Prose 3.8

Hello,
I just upgraded to Genesis 3.8 for a Prose child theme. The font is not the usual font so I went to go to "Design" under the Genesis tab and it was not there.

How do I change the font now?

You should still have Genesis > Design Settings in your menu for sure, and the font option is still under the global styles tab. So that option is completely missing for you now?

Thank you for getting back to me. Yes, under Genesis I have:

Theme Settings
SEO Settings
Import/Export

So, no design setting and I cannot get to the global styles tab. Also, this was a new install. Normally when I install Prose for a new site the first thing that appears is the global styles tab, but that did not happen this time.

I think so, it's the same Prose I've been using for a while. I have it saved on my desktop and just upload and install it when I make a new site.

The only thing I can think of that is different is the Genesis 3.8 and I think that only took effect yesterday.

WordPress updated to 3.8 yesterday, but I just uploaded Prose to a test site and was able to install and activate it with no problems. You're the third person I've heard mention difficulties with Prose in particular - do you host with Bluehost, by chance?

Well, it is for customers and it depends on which host they choose, but in this case they chose Hostgator, which I believe is owned by the same company as Bluehost.

Do me a favor - if you have FTP or CPanel access to the site, check the error log in the site's root directory to see what is showing for today.

I suppose I could uninstall it, and reinstall it and just not upgrade, but it shouldn't have to work that way.

You might want to open a ticket with support on this one - that is definitely an odd issue. They may be able to help you get it resolved, and it could help others who may run into the same thing.

Is that file manager, then FTP root?

I'll open a ticket with support, but I may have to uninstall and then reinstall and not upgrade. I'm on a deadline to get this done.

The bad thing is I like the default font that appears now but I need the one I have in an example because that is what was advertised.

well, stupid me, I think I had Prose installed but not activated, or didn't even have it installed at all. I went to uninstall it and couldn't find it, then I installed and activated it and everything I needed was there.

I have a client that has PROSE on Bluhost and when she updated to 3.8, it overwrote PROSE with a different one. Is the a bluhost only problem? I had the company revert the theme files back to the ORIGINAL prose, but the theme won't work on 3.8. Any updates about this?

No, this problem isn't specific to Bluehost. Here's how to fix it:

(1) Make sure you have a complete backup of the site just in case.
(2) Copy any custom CSS and custom functions to a document on your computer.
(3) Make sure the Prose settings page is showing a single column and use the Toggle All button at the top to open all the design settings.
(4) Download Prose 1.5.2 from your StudioPress downloads page: http://my.studiopress.com/downloads/
(5) Activate the Genesis Framework in Appearance > Themes and delete Prose.
(6) Upload Prose 1.5.2 and activate. All your design settings should still be in place, and you can paste in any custom CSS and functions and save.
(7) Upgrade to WordPress 3.8.
