MemberI recently switched from a child theme to using basic Genesis and I have some strange code-like language appearing above the header on my site. I've switched to non-Genesis themes and the code goes away, so it's definitely something with Genesis and/or a plug-in issue? Can anyone look at it and know what's going on? Here's the url -- http://www.awaldorfjourney.com
Thanks!

ParticipantThe code is not unique to WordPress or Genesis, and can be found in searches for the entire or partial string on WordPress.com, Facebook, Gravatar.com, LinkedIn, etc.
I'd start by disabling all plugins, seeing if it disappears. Re-enable plugins individually until the error reappears. This could also be a code conflict between plugins.
Perhaps reinstall Genesis or Sample.
Possibly, some change you've made to your sample theme is leaking text/code in some way?

MemberThanks for the reply. Disabling plug-ins and reinstalling themes were my next (laborious!) steps. I was hoping someone might know more, so I could have a better idea of where to start, but alas, looks like I'll just have to dive in.
Thanks again for the help!

MemberOkay, so I've installed a fresh version of Genesis, uninstalled every plug-in (left them all uninstalled except for one) and still the problem persists! Any other suggestions anyone?

ModeratorDo you have anything in your Genesis header scripts? (Dashboard > Genesis > Theme Settings > Header & Footer Scripts)?
If that doesn't resolve the issue, you can submit a ticket for official support to see if they are able to assist.

ParticipantIt looks like you're running Genesis without a theme installed, which is naturally going to be a problem when Genesis is updated. You're also calling the Google fonts API to get Ubuntu font, apparently from your functions.php file. This should all be replaced by the original Genesis-with/sample setup. Please also remove anything you may have placed in the header (or footer) section of Genesis theme options. Once you've baselined Genesis, I guess it's possible that it's a problem or conflict that might warrant a ticket with StudioPress.
You've also left Woocommerce installed. Please remove Woo and any other plug-ins. If the problem goes away it was Woo or a plugin or your call to Google Fonts. If the problem still exists I'm guessing that something is bad with your WordPress installation or hosting setup.

MemberAh-ha! I don't know why I didn't think to check the header section on the Genesis settings page. I was running a child theme but took everything off so I could figure out the problem. Glad I've found it now! Thanks so much for the help!

ParticipantGlad you're back on track. I'm curious to know what/why that code was placed there; what it was ?
