I'm trying to change the number of posts per page in a single taxonomy archive to show all posts, instead of the default of 8 per page set in the WordPress admin area. Not sure if I'm doing the custom loop the best way for Genesis, so I figured I'd ask here.

All the code is up in a Gist: https://gist.github.com/mattbanks/4755368

It's still pulling 8 posts per page instead of using the pre_get_posts override. I'm guessing it has to do with the custom loop.

    Any ideas?

To make things even more puzzling... if I run print_r( $query ) both before and after the $query->set() call, I get 5 prior to resetting the value and -1 afterwards, so it's being properly set. However, I'm getting 8 items regardless of what posts_per_page is set to when I print out the contents of the query object. (WP admin-> Reading is set to 8 posts, so I'm guessing that's where the 8 is coming from).
