I'm using the Metro Pro theme on my website. In running a Page Test to look at page load speed, it was recommended that a CDN be used for all static assets.

My site is hosted on WP Engine, and I do have CDN as part of my hosting plan. In speaking with one of their support staff, I was told that "the CDN only affects the first instance of an image in a single line." Apparently, even though the images are stored on the CDN - through WP Engine - when the home page is loaded that image is not being called.

This is the best I can do to explain this.

Is there a theme fix for this, or do any of you have a solution for this?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi,

this is not a problem with Genesis or the child theme.
WordPress introduced a new feature, serving different size images depending on the screen-size of the visitor.
You have to either wait for the CDN to update their technology or disable the new responsive image feature.
