MemberAs I have seen in other posts some of us get the message "Genesis Simple Edits requires WordPress 5.0.0 and Genesis 3.1.0, or greater. Please upgrade to the latest version of Genesis to use this plugin." But the upgrade doesn't work.
I am running News Pro child theme which is said to be HTML5 and Gutenberg ready.I have upgraded via ftp but with no effect at all on the message.
Also, when I click for details on the Genesis theme on the themes page, it still says version 2.1.
I did this yesterday and the only guess I have is that there is a cache on the server in play, but as time pass I now put the question here. All tips are welcome!

KeymasterYou are using the old XHTML version of News. You will need to log in to your my.studiopress.com account and download the HTML5 version.
Support for XHTML theme ended with Genesis 3.0. So you are stuck at your current version unless you upgrade your theme to the new version of News Pro. See Changelog here - https://studiopress.github.io/genesis/changelog/ under 3.0.0 > Removal Heading (Removed support for all non-html5 output.).
Your site will need to be updated with all of your branded colors, etc. You can use a plugin called Widget Importer & Exporter to export your current widgets to your desktop. Change themes and then import the widget file to import your widget content.
I would say maybe put the site on a Staging area, work up the new website and then push the update to Live to give you the new look.
It's basically going to be a re-design with an updated version of News Pro. I'd sugg

MemberAh, that sounds like a reasonable explanation. The customisation is mine and the sie is quite old.
OK, time for redesign, maybe.
Thank you very much for helping me to find the problem!!!
