    Hi guys,

I've stumbled upon Genesis framework and _think_ it might be what I'm looking for (but not ready to spend $50 in case it isn't before I've asked some questions first).

So I'm a fairly good web designer with decent knowledge in html and css(sass). I am "ok" in javascript. So far that has been enough to make themes from scratch in Underscores_ . However, it's been fine when I'm the one who is updating the site but I'm concerned about given the themes away to clients. Especially since my "backend" (or whatever the wp_admin interface is called) is just the basic one that's shipped with the installation.

The TinyMCE for example sucks on my themes if I build them in Underscores. Also I feel like there's a bunch of other things that are really nice on premium themes out there in the backend, but I'm really not interested in having to build a nice backend for every theme I create. SO (finally question):

Is Genesis a good base theme to have for non-coding beginners (aka my clients) when it comes to updating the content in the theme? For example, unless you *fix* your TinyMCE in Underscores, it looks weird and also, I have not figured out how to add 'custom styling' without adding divs on my own in the text editor.

Basically, tl;dr: I want a theme that I can build beautiful child themes from, but don't wanna have to worry about making the wp-admin (the "backend" where the client updates the content) "user-friendly" - I want that already taken care of. Is Genesis the right way to go?

Genesis also has the same wp-admin interface, with a few theme options built in, but I have never had a problem with it confusing any clients. Often, it is the same interface they are used to seeing with most WordPress themes they have used.

I don’t see how it isn’t user friendly. As long as any custom fields added are intuitive enough, with clear instruction, I think it’s hard for people not to navigate their way around pretty quickly.

If they don’t know WordPress at all and are struggling even adding pages for themselves, then there is always WP101.com

I love helping creative entrepreneurs build epic things with WP & Genesis.
