So when I click on WP tools in bluehost, and go to themes, it shows that my child theme is on but not genesis. Do both of these need to be on in order for the child theme and genesis to properly function?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I'm not familiar with the Bluehost dashboard, but in order for Genesis to function properly, you will need the Genesis framework and a Genesis child theme. The child theme needs to be active, and that's where you'd make any changes as changes made to the framework could be overridden during a theme update. Those should be located under THEMES in the APPEARANCE menu in WordPress.

    Hope that helps.
