I believe this is a very noob question 😛

I want to make a very simple thing.. but I can't even explain it concisely.

There are some sites where the main page (the root page) is not Home, but Blog.

For instance, the site: copyhackers.com. When you are in the root (copyhackers.com), you are in the Blog section.

This is exactly what I want to do... So, I tried to create a menu item called "Blog" which is a link and the link is my URL "textozen.com.br".

When I come to the site, I see the Blog selected as I wished! Cool....

But... When I click in one of the categories in the navigation menu just under the logo, "Blog" is no more highlighted in the main menu.

Category pages are considered different from the blog page. The highlighting goes away when I view a category page, tag page, or a single post.

I already found a way to fix the breadcrumb with this article: http://www.billerickson.net/adding-blog-to-genesis-breadcrumbs/

But still.. haven't succeeded in maintaining the menu highlight 🙁

    Any thoughts?

    Hi,

You are correct, a category page is different to the "blog" page.

On the Copyhackers site, when you click on one of their categories, the "blog" menu item is no longer highlighted either.

So right now on your site, I can see when I go to the main URL, the front page shows me blog posts laid out similar to the demo of the News Pro theme and when I click on one of the categories in the secondary navigation, I see posts that are assigned to that category - which is what I would expect.

Is that ok? Or is there something else you need to do (perhaps I haven't quite understood).

    Cheers

    Helena 🙂
