    Hi.

I wonder if you'd kindly share which option have you chosen for securing your WordPress sites? I'm trying to decide between iThemes Security, Wordfence and WP all in one security and firewall. The costs of each vary a lot - but from my research I'd say they mostly do the same job..does that sound about right? I know that paying provides some additional layers of defence.

    Thanks for your advice/opinions.

I've heard good things about Sucuri.

Consider switching your hosting to WP Engine--we use them, and they've been awesome. It may sound like an odd solution, but they have some pretty impressive security measures built into their hosting service and, in my experience, really high quality support. On top of that, they promise to fix your site if it gets hacked for no additional cost. Here's their security page that explains all that better: https://wpengine.com/our-difference/secure-wordpress-hosting-on-wp-engine/

    1. iThemes Security is a good plugin in my opinion because it covers many of the security issues recommended for WordPress.

    2. I would also use some type of backup solution which is stored away from your server. You can choose from backup plugins, hosts which include one click backup & restore or a service like VaultPress.

    3. The 3rd option is to look at taking backup manually by downloading your files using Cpanel or FTP and exporting your content using the WordPress export tool or phpMyAdmin.

I use wordfence security (free plugin) and of course my webhost has Sucuri free to us customers.

    Hello,

    1) Make sure your admin ID is not default (add a new admin, delete the old one, the ID number will not be the same).
    2) Use a very secure, entropic password
    3) Use two-factor for all accounts which can edit and esp do theme / admin updates
    4) iThemes is fantastic

Hi, I have tried wordfence on my health blog and it was great.
